26th August 2026. Deaf-friendly guitar lessons TRIAL DAY:

This summer I’m offering a free trial lesson to every new Deaf student. Sessions are 30 minutes long and provide an exciting opportunity to see how Deaf guitar tuition works, using methods such as audio visualisers, apps, adapted notation and BSL use throughout. Guitar and all other equipment provided – just bring yourself and enjoy!

An interactive and fun introduction to the basics of recording, mixing and mastering

Course content includes:

– Learning about studio hardware such as the soundcard and midi keyboard
– Learning about studio software including the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), midi instruments and FX
– Creating melodies and accompaniment using midi and/or audio tracks
– Mixing techniques such as adjusting levels, EQ and panning
– Exporting your final track to an Mp3 to take home

The course is adaptable to each student and so all tastes in music/preferred genres are welcome!

Each session will be ‘hands on’ meaning students are largely in control of the software and equipment and will be developing practical skills that they can then transfer to their chosen DAW at home.
